πŸŽ„ The Twelve Posts of Christmas (Letterman Cut) πŸŽ„

(Because it’s Christmas Eve and I missed a few days)

7️⃣ The Movies

Do I like the classics or the new stuff? Yes.

Do I like Hallmark movies? Absolutely not. Those are trash.

Give me It’s a Wonderful Life, White Christmas, Holiday Inn, Miracle on 34th Street, A Christmas Story, Elf, every version of The Grinch, Home Alone, The Santa Clause movies…

…and of course the undisputed cinematic masterpiece: Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.

8️⃣ The Church Service

It’s the pause button.

The moment that reminds me all the other fluffβ€”even the good fluffβ€”exists because something world-changing happened.

Also, many people who claim to follow Jesus might want to re-read what He actually said. Just saying.

9️⃣ Christmas Eve

As a kid, it meant familyβ€”sitting on my uncle’s lap while he dressed up as Santa.

As an adult, it still means family… it just looks different.

Now I get to watch my kids, nieces, and nephews (neflots?) play, sing carols, open gifts, and experience that same magicβ€”just from the other side of the room.

πŸ”Ÿ Christmas Day

Watching kids open gifts never gets old.

Morning at home, then over to my parents’ for brunch, gifts (they always do way too much), a late lunch, a lazy afternoon, and evening visits with extended family.

It’s a full dayβ€”and a good tired.

1️⃣1️⃣ A Wonderful Life

Christmas forces me to slow down and take inventory.

I take a lot for granted during the year, but this season reminds meβ€”despite the chaosβ€”to notice the blessings, the people, and the moments that actually matter.

1️⃣2️⃣ Onwards to the New Year

Christmas gives me space to reset.

To think about what made the year good, what could’ve been better, and what I want to carry forward.

It’s not about resolutionsβ€”it’s about refocusing.

🎁 Sappy Ending

Christmas is messy, loud, exhausting, joyful, sacred, ridiculous, and meaningfulβ€”all at once.

And somehow, every year, it still works.

Merry Christmas. πŸŽ„
